Located directly on the German border, it is not far to Innsbruck, Salzburg or Munich via the motorway or train. But the district itself also has a lot to offer:

Leisure & Shopping

There are shopping centers in Wörgl (M4 - with bowling alley, climbing park, fitness center & cinema) and Kufstein (Inntalcenter & Kufsteiner galleries). There are numerous sports clubs (football, ice hockey, volleyball,...) and offers (tennis, yoga, dancing, mini golf,...) throughout the region.

Winter

There are several ski areas in Kufstein: Zahmer Kaiser/Walchsee, Hinterthiersee and Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser (Austria's largest ski area) in Hochsöll. You can also toboggan there. There are also some cross-country ski trails throughout the region. You can find relaxation e.g. in the public sauna Hello you in Ebbs.

Summer

In addition to numerous hiking routes and bicycle tours in the entire district, there are numerous bathing lakes (including Hechtsee, Walchsee, Stimmersee, Reintalersee), as well as outdoor pools (including Kufstein, Ebbs, Niederndorf) and excursion destinations for the summer.

Culture

Numerous events such as concerts, knight festivals and the operetta summer always take place at the Kufstein Fortress. In addition to numerous city and village festivals, theater and cabaret, the largest festival in western Austria - Kufstein Unlimited is also recommended. In winter, the local Christmas markets in Kufstein & Rattenberg are also very nice.

Fortress & town of Kufstein

The city of Kufstein is definitely worth a visit. Both the fortress and the city center can be visited here. The Untere Stadtplatz and the Römerhofgasse are particularly beautiful and traditional here.
